Health and Safety

Health and Safety.

A&L Paving recognises the importance of Health & Safety and has built up a H&S Management system to support our operations.

It is our priority to maintain a healthy, safe and secure working environment for all our employees, sub-contractors and anyone who might be affected by our works.

We always satisfy our clients of our commitment to H&S and fulfil our obligation to supply evidence as such. In an industry where H&S is of the utmost importance we have kept up with legislation and expectations of our clients.Having achieved accreditation from CHAS we are in the process of becoming a member of Construction Line.

It is standard practice to produce “Site Specific” Risk Assessments and Method Statements for all contracts undertaken. These are always approved, prior to works commencing, by the Main Contractor. Our staff are also SMSTS and SSSTS Qualified staff.

Site staff at A&L Paving have all passed the touch screen H&S test and obtained CSCS cards. Many have recently achieved an NVQ L2 in Modular Paving and have upgraded to a Skills Card. Until recently paving was not are cognised skill but with an increasing demand for paving as an alternative to the more traditional tarmac, the CITB soon introduced this new trade to their catalogue of trades.

At least 1 member of every gang holds CPCS cards in various plant operations. This is essential to our works as the use of machinery increases due to lifting restrictions.
